This is a fun activity for families and builders of all ages - a hands-on unique experience making adobe blocks or mud bricks on the grounds of a stunning horse ranch in the heart of the Sacred Valley. You’ll have a great time getting your hands dirty, we’ll take some great photos of your group, and you’ll learn a lot of interesting stuff about building traditions of the Sacred Valley.

Made of a mixture of mud, sand, loam, and water with a binding material such as rice husks, or straw, mud-brick construction is called Adobe in areas of Spanish influence. Adobe is among the world's’ earliest building materials, and it is very common here in the Sacred Valley, so this is a perfect place to get your hands dirty and try it yourself. Our stunning family ranch is surrounded by majestic mountains of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and all the houses on the ranch are constructed using this ancient method.

The workshop begins with a warm Peruvian welcome on our ranch in the Sacred Valley where we show you around our picturesque organic gardens, the ranch grounds, and you can meet our beautiful horses if you’d like. Then Senor Claudio and Senor Guillermo, our local experts in mud brick making, will share their first-hand knowledge about building traditions of the Sacred Valley, and this ancient building technique. With their help, you’ll make some strong mud mix yourself, and shape it into blocks. After the workshop we will serve refreshments, and you are welcome to use our guest facilities including the showers.
