Made of a mixture of mud, sand, loam, and water with a binding material such as rice husks or straw, mud-brick construction is called Adobe in areas of Spanish influence. Adobe is among the world's’ earliest building materials, and it is very common here in the Sacred Valley. All of the buildings on our ranch are constructed using this ancient method.
In this hands on workshop you will get your hands dirty and learn all about the building traditions of the sacred valley.
Based on our ranch surrounded by the mountains, we will welcome you and show you our picturesque grounds with mountains, hummingbirds, and horses all around, before Senor Claudio and Senor Guillermo, our local experts in mud brick making, will share their first-hand knowledge about building traditions of the Sacred Valley. With their help, you’ll make some strong mud mix yourself, and shape it into blocks.
After the workshop we will enjoy some refreshments, and you can clean up in our facilities.
