Moray - Maras - Salineras Mountain Bike Ride

Spend a day on a exploring by mountain bike, visiting several treasures of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, off-the beaten path and away from the crowds. 

 

Arriving at our beautiful ranch we will show you the grounds, you can take in the beautiful mountains all around and meet the local horses and hummingbirds. Once everyone is ready we will equip you with a state of the art mountain bike and all the necessary safety gear. Then, following our knowledgeable guide you will set out for the day.

We will start the day by heading to Moray, an Incan center for agricultural experimentation and development. Here you leave your bikes and visit the impressive architecture of Moray on foot. After riding for an hour across the plains we will come to the quaint, colonial town of Maras. Just outside Maras there is a peaceful meadow, where our advance-team will set everything up for your picnic-style lunch break. We will ensure you have plenty of time to admire the breathtaking valley and the snow-capped peaks. Next, we will descend a steep hill to the famous Salineras salt mines. Finally get ready for some excitement as we descend a mountain trail back to the ranch, where you will be able to use our showers sand enjoy some refreshments. 

Start time: 

To avoid crowds, we start this ride early - at 8:30 am, so you can meet your guides and have you bike ready

Pick-up time:

Varies depending on the location of your hotel. If you are coming from Cusco, your driver will pick you up from your accommodations at 7:00 am, if you are already in the Sacred Valley pickup will be at 8:00 am.

Cusco – Salineras Ranch: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Urubamba – Salineras Ranch: 15 minutes
Ollantaytambo – Salineras Ranch: 25 minutes

Not included: 

  • Ticket for the Moray archeological complex is not included. It has to be purchased as a part of “Boleto Turistico” - a multi-day, multi-site pass, which many of our guests already have.

Optional upgrades: 

  • For best experience, we recommend adding the Gourmet meal served in the ranch dining room instead of box lunch  – add. $70 per person (included transport from Moray to the ranch)

  • Gourmet hot meal served under a tent in the mountains – minimum for 2 people – add. $130 per person

Recommended bringing:

  • Sunblock and Sunglasses

  • Long-sleeved shirt, preferably in light color (for sun protection) 

  • Wide-brimmed hat or sun shield ball cap

  • Comfortable walking shoes or sneakers 

  • Rain jacket and a mid-layer fleece

  • Pants suitable for
