Description
The cacao grown in Peru is among the best in the world. Not surprisingly, a recent theory proposes that the Peruvian jungle was in fact the origin of this plant. The Cusco region, where we are located, is the home to the rare and delicious Chuncho cacao. These cacao trees can grow to be 200 years old, but since they yield smaller quantities they are harder to come by, which makes savouring them during this workshop all the more unique!
Surrounded by colourful mountains, hummingbirds, and horses, we’ll have a specially prepared spot where our local cacao expert will have you participate in the process of making from bean to delicious, an artisanal chocolate bar as well as a delicious surprise that you will simply love. In this hands-on demo, you will also learn about the history of the cacao and the process of making different cacao products.
Demo includes:
- English-speaking facilitator and a cacao expert
- All the implements you’ll need for this activity
- Hot cacao tea, an artisanal chocolate bar, a delicious surprise
