River Ride

The ride will begin through the scenic rural community of Pichingoto, so well off-the-beaten-track! We’ll cross a hanging bridge and ride along the Vilcanota River. Along the way, we will see cavern-like dwellings which were once home to the Incas, with striking facades built into the sides of the mountain. We will pass by an old church and finally reach a beautiful open grassland with crops and natural pastures. Here, we’ll take a break for spectacular photos of the Sacred Valley, enjoying the splendor of the surrounding mountains.

This is an away-from-the-crowds adventure where you’ll ride through an ancient village, between the corn fields, and along a river that was very special to the Inca. Our bilingual guides are locals, extremely knowledgeable about the area and there to enhance your experience of our culture. Our horses are also well-trained and cared-for specimens of the Peruvian Paso breed.

The adventure begins on our ranch where you’ll receive a warm welcome and get to meet the team – the guides and the horses. This is where we will go over a few basic riding and safety instructions.
